song: Welcome Home, Son – Radical Face

There is no better way to ring in the new year than being in the middle of nowhere on the top of a mountain with strangers from all over the world. January 2020 invited an adventure through Buenos Aires, Argentina before taking a small plane down to the Argentinian side of Patagonia. We stayed in a little climbing town called El Chaltén to explore Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. Our impetus for the trip was driven by the awe-striking and equally infamous Fitz Roy Glacier. The iconic glacier you see lining the logo of Patagonia brand gear is not easily conquered by the faint-hearted. This full-day hike left us exhausted after tackling 20km and 750m of elevation gain (which I must add that the majority of this elevation gain was in the last kilometer of the hike). I HIGHLY recommend exploring this region if you love natural air and undisturbed scenery (and even more so if you would like to finish your day with a hefty smorgasbord of meat, cheese, empanadas, and red wine).
